With over 1,350 Papua New Guineans working at their company, their achievements and commitment to sustainable practices is no easy feat. Annual reviews by the PNG Department of Environment and Conservation Protection Authority (DEC) ensure all timber is sourced from a local and renewable supply of pine located in Wau and Bulolo.
In addition to this, PNG Forest is also the only company in Papua New Guinea to attain a Programme for the Endorsement of Forest (PEFC) Chain of Custody Accreditation. This globally recognized accreditation demonstrates to international buyers PNG Forest's ability to legally and sustainably source forest products for their customers and that their processes are of high industry standards.
Any logistics company working with PNG Forest would naturally have these high expectations extended to them.

In 2019, PNG Forest approached Swift to solve an important issue with their supply chain. PNG Forest exports engineered wood products to New Zealand however New Zealand's biosecurity regulations require all incoming containers must be cleaned and appropriately handled to prevent pests, diseases, and other contaminants from entering the country.
Prior to working with Swift, PNG Forest experienced delays due to the sourcing, cleaning, and the delivery of containers to their warehouse. This was important as over 40 containers a month needed to be prepared in this manner and one delay near the front or middle of the queue caused a cascading effect creating longer and longer delays. In some cases, PNG Forest staff were pulled from their usual responsibilities to perform cleaning duties to meet loading schedules and shipping deadlines.

These duties have since been outsourced to Swift with PNG Forest benefitting from saving on cost, freeing up their staff, and now depend on us to deliver these containers as specified and on time.
